EDUCATION

They Don’t Get to Go to School

The lower a family’s income, the less the family has a choice. Eating and survival defeats school every time and instead of going to school to learn to read and write their children work or hawk goods.

They spend hours fetching water, searching garbage dumps for plastics to sell, working in the farms alongside their parents or even roadside begging. It’s the only way to survive.

Education opens doors to a host of new options.

Children love school, at least at first. That’s where they make friends, play, make memories and begin to explore the world. Going to school is a hallmark of childhood.

In the developing world, there are numerous factors that create obstruction to a child’s education. The countries that have the lowest enrolment rates are generally those that do not have free, universal primary and secondary education. Where primary education is free, enrolment rates are high but many children do not continue on to secondary school if the parents cannot afford the high school fees or because they are forced to work or stay at home to take care of siblings.

Lack of suitable school facilities and transportation in rural areas often make it difficult for children to attend school regularly. In addition, there is generally a shortage of qualified teachers.

Give the Children’s primary goal is to help children in despair and poverty in developing countries gain the benefit of education and also IT training. We believe education creates change, not only improving the life of an individual child but also contributing to the development of the child’s family, community and their country.

Give the Children is 100% volunteer operated. Every dollar contributed goes directly to the community in need, improving the lives of children and families worldwide. Education is one of our top priorities. When you educate a child you empower them, enable them to build a brighter future and give them the opportunity to succeed.

How We Do It

Getting children into school requires that we help provide good food and nutrition, health, water, and livelihoods that will sustain their families.

It’s a grand vision that can’t become reality without heroes like you. Take a look and see where you can help.

Teachers and Classrooms

Teachers need tools like well-lit classrooms that stay dry during rainfalls, desks, school supplies, clean water, kitchens and toilets facilities. By partnering with local carpenters and joiners, we build desks for classrooms. Provide clean water projects and construction of enough toilets to serve the whole school.

Our mission

80% of your donation goes towards providing educational materials and conducive classrooms,  training facility and free training in public schools to needy pupils in developing world.
